Q1. What do you think you were in your previous life?
—An English man. Because people often said my English pronunciation sounds like British pronunciation.
Q2. What expensive thing did you buy recently?
—I guess it's sofa. I moved to a new residence last year, so in that timing, I bought a new sofa. It's a white leather L-shaped sofa.
Q3. How is your interior?
—It's simple. The livingroom is covered by wave-patterned rug. The floor is light brown, so it's basically in earth color.
Q4. What is your favorite part of your house?
—I like all of it, but I guess it's livingroom. Like, around the sofa?
Q5. What song are you addicted to recently?
— Boku no Lyric no Bouyomi-san's last album "Botsuraku" is really good.
Q6. Where do you want to go to the most now?
—Since I never go there before, it's Hawaii! I want to feel its leisure atmosphere.
Q7. What food do you want to eat now?
—Karaage.
Q8. What is your favorite fashion item?
—I have many, but I guess my favorite for winter is Calvin Klein's long coat. It's pretty adorable so I wear it often.
Q9. What thing do you want to the most now?
—Driving. I want to go to a place where I can see the sea!
Q10. What thing do you want the most?
—I want a big TV.
Q11. Recently, what thing makes you laugh?
—I guess it's the recording for "GENERATIONS é«˜æ ¡ TV". Every episode is so interesting and it makes me laugh a lot
Q12. Since you are an only child, do you want to have sibling?
—I want a little brother, I guess. I want to go drinking together with him.
Q13. Can you drink a lot or not?
—I can. I like red wine.
Q14. What do you think of your own personality?
—I'm not good at relaxing. I'm not good in switching my mood between working and relaxing. I'm a type who can't really switch off my working mode.
Q15. You say in many interviews that you are an earnest person. Is there any advantage and disadvantage of being earnest?
—When I have to connect with older people, I think being earnest give me lots of advantages. The disadvantage is of course that I'm lacking of playfulness, so it's the issue from now on.
Q16. What do you do when you want to relax?
—I drink wine. When I get drunk... it will be fun.
Q17. Please tell us your current obsession recently!
—Drinking delicious water! I will surely have it with me when I go to filming location.
Q18. Do you drink coffee?
—I like it. I like black coffee.
Q19. What is your favorite clothing brand?
—I guess it's RAF SIMONS. I also like their designs in the past.
Q20. What fabric softener do you use?
—I forgot.
Q21. What perfume do you like?
—I don't use much.
Q22. Please tell us what shampoo and body soap you use.
—It's what's sold in the market (laugh).
Q23. What supplement do you drink?
—I drink EX PROTEIN SERIES.
Q24. What meal do you always have?
—It varies from day to day though, but I always have mozuku (types of edible seaweed) and natto (fermented soybeans) in my refrigerator. They are good for my body and also delicious. It's useful if you want to be healthy.
Q25. What is your recommendation of healing/comforting goods?
—I guess it's aromatherapy. I use aroma essence which is safe for skin while sleeping.
Q26. If you sing on karaoke, what song will you sing?
—Perhaps "Manatsu no Kajitsu" by Southern All Stars?
Q27. What's your method to deal with hard times?
—Of course, it's delicious food and delicious alcohol, I guess.
Q28. What do you do in your day-off?
—Tidying up my room and going shopping.
Q29. What LINE sticker do you use?
—"Howl's Moving Castle" sticker.
Q30. What is your iPhone's wallpaper?
—The picture of sky I took when I was at The Ise Grand Shrine. Because I don't like something too personal.
Q31. Do you believe in superstition?
—Not really~ When I want to fire myself up, I wear my favorite clothes or clothes which I bought after working hard.
Q32. What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
—Vanilla based. I also like choco chips.
Q33. What's your charm point?
—The mole under my right eye.
Q34. What makes you think, "Ah, I'm an adult"?
—Though I like alcohol, because it can make me feel not good on the next day, I can control myself (not to drink too much).
Q35. Other than delicious alcohol and delicious food, what things make you happy?
—Taking a bath, I guess. I soak myself in the bathtub. I do it while listening to music.
Q36. After fragrant olive, what scent do you like?
—Grapefruit, I guess.
Q37. What flavor of potato chips do you like?
—Truffle salt.
Q38. Don't you feel embarrassed anymore to wink?
—I don't!
Q39. What genre do you usually read?
—Self-development. Sometimes I read it while in shinkansen.
Q40. What is your daily routine?
—To be aware to drink 2 litres of water everyday.
Q41. Please tell us your favorite phrase.
—Well, I say "E—tto" (Umm...) a lot.
Q42. From the people in showbiz industry, who are you getting along well with?
—Chiba Yudai-kun. He's my number one big brother.
Q43. Have you drank the N'da-mo-shita'n (wine) Yoshino Hokuto-kun (Note: one of The Rampage's vocalists) gave you?
—I haven't.
Q44. Have you got driving license?
—Soon. I will surely have it when this (magazine) issue is on sale!!
Q45. In a year, how many times do you go back to Osaka?
—2-3 times? Once in my private time, I guess.
Q46. Among insects, which is better?
—Ummm, spider.
Q47. What did you do before your high school graduation?
—I had entered showbiz industry at that time. I participated in some events frantically. I don't have much memories about that.
Q48. What are your high school memories?
—Though my grades when I first enter high school was good, there's an episode when I was called by my teacher because he thought I didn't study properly for around a month and a half (laugh). I kept it a secret that I participated in audition.
Q49. If the earth was to be collapsed tomorrow, what would you want to do?
—I would want to convey my gratitude to the people who have helped me. Then I'd want to eat delicious food. Sushi would be good, wouldn't it? But no one would be making it (at such time).
Q50. If you could be reborn, what would you want to be?
—A human being. A man~ It would be good if I could be more playful then.
Q51. Future or past. Which one would you choose to go to?
—I don't want to go to both.
Q52. If you could be a girl for one day, what would you wear? How would you spend that day?
—Eh, what would I wear? I would like to be a neat and tidy woman and I'd like to try wearing skirts with formal feels. Mini skirts would be... scary, I guess. My option for clothes would be broadened. I would try long skirts.
Q53. Do you do New Year's Eve jump when entering a new year or not?
—What an interesting question! I don't.
Q54. What do you want to say to your 10-years-ago self?
—Keep doing your best as you've been doing.
Q55. What do you want to say to your 10-years-later self?
—I want to ask if what I'm doing now is right or not. Actually I want to have a family. I want to get married and have children. Two children, one boy and one girl. I want to be an adult who supports his family.
Q56. If you didn't enter showbiz world, what do you think you would you be doing now?
—I wanted to be a diplomat before, so I guess that's what I would be doing~
Q57. What was the hardest thing you went through last year? And also, what was the happiest thing?
—Both is the dome tour. The rehearsal was hard. It was full of new things for us, so everyone did trial and error, and there were lots of times our opinions clashed with each other's. It was hard when we tried to put them one by one in order and finally build something out of it.
Q58. What thing do you want to try doing in 2019?
—Well, I guess it's driving. Assuming that I've got my license (laugh). Then I want to be better in switching my mood between work and private life.
Q59. Facing the end of Heisei Era, what are things that you still left unfinished?
—There's nothing at all. Nothing but holding expectation for the new era.
Q60. What is your favorite New Year's dish?
—I like kazunoko (herring roe).
Q61. How do you want to spend the New Year's eve?
—I'd like to know the New Year in New York.
Q62. If you are to be praised, what kind of praise do you want to hear?
—I want to be praised that my inner side is cool.
Q63. Dog or cat?
—Dog.
Q64. What is your favorite onigiri filling?
—Natto.
Q65. What would you want to do if the world ended?
—I'd go to meet people I wanted to meet.
Q66. What's your favorite sushi topping?
—Medium-fatty tuna.
Q67. What will you choose: ramen or udon?
—Ramen. I like iekei. (Note: Iekei ramen is characterized by its thick, greasy, pork-flavored, some say creamy, broth. The noodles are usually thick and yellow (The Tokyo Times). Iekei ramen or homestyled ramen is originated from Yokohama area)
Q68. What's the reason behind your name?
—Since the beginning, my parents wanted it to be read as "Ryota". So, since I was born in a very hot day in midsummer, they used the kanji "涼" (Note: it's the Ryo in Ryota's name, meaning 'cool' or 'refreshing')
Q69. What do most people around you think about you?
—People often say I'm eccentric. My blood type is AB anyway.
Q70. Which of your parents do you resemble to?
—My figure resembles my mom, while the strong features of my face resemble my dad.
Q71. What is your favorite takoyaki filling?
—The basic is the best!
Q72. What do you like from your outfit today?
—The black coat and knitwear which sleeves are colored. I chose it together with my stylist this morning.
Q73. What kind of clothes do you wear everyday?
—I wear clothes from various genre. I have lots of clothes anyway (laugh).
Q74. If you get your driving license, what kind of car do you want?
—I've done lots of research about that though, I guess vintage car is cool~
Q75. When you were little, were there times when you were mistaken as a girl?
—It happened frequently and it kinda troubled my mom, so sometimes seems like she just let it be (laugh).
Q76. Do you set up schedule when you have days-off?
—I already think about it far before the days-off.
Q77. What role do you want to try in the future?
—Doctor or lawyer, I want to try roles with professional occupations.
Q78. Who is the actor you want to work together with? The actor you admire?
—I have many, but I want to work together with Yamada Takayuki-san.
Q79. What things make you happy about being an actor?
—I'm happy to hear that because of seeing my works as an actor, people start to know about GENE.
Q80. Among the works you appeared in, which one is your favorite?
—I have memories for each of them, but as my first movie, "Ani ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu" is deeply memorable. It's something which changed me, the trigger which broadened my world.
Q81. Which part of you do you think has changed and which part remains unchanged compared to the time before your debut?
—Hmm, I'm changed, right? But I think I have more sense of responsibility now. My nature isn't changed though, but before, I was just a child who had so many things he didn't know.
Q82. Among the members, who do you talk to the most?
—Mandy-san. We talk about the group, and we also talk about various things frankly.
Q83. Among the members, who takes the longest time taking a shower?
—Reo! He takes extremely a long time (to shower) (laugh).
Q84. Please tell us one unexpected side of the members!
—Hayato is unexpectedly strict toward girls. He hates mushy/overly sentimental girls.
Q85. What do the members call you?
—Ryota.
Q86. When do you think, "I'm glad I'm in GENERATIONS"?
—I always think so, but perhaps it's when people who work together with us say that they like GENE.
Q87. If you could reborn as someone else from GENE for 1 day, whom would you want to be and what would you want to do?
—I guess Yuta-kun. He can do any kind of dance, that's why I want to dance with Yuta-kun's body. It's such a wonder that his body always seems so light when he moves.
Q88. If you could date with the members for 1 day, who would you choose and what would you want to do?
—It's difficult, but seems like Hayato would be interesting. We'd go watching movies together, then we'd go drinking while talking about our impressions on the movie.
Q89. If you were a GENE fan, which member would you be a fan of?
—Mandy-san. I think Mandy-san is a very wonderful person.
Q90. Who is the artist you want to collaborate with?
—GENE and Aimyon-san sounds interesting. It has a good vibe of young power, I guess.
Q91. What kind of song do you want to release as GENERATIONS from now on?
—I want to do songs with J-Pop-like vibes. Like popular songs from 2000 era. I want to do songs which can be sung in karaoke.
Q92. Please tell us any happenings in the dome tour.
—When we all were on the trolleys, I forgot to take off my jacket, so I was the only one who wore my jacket while singing the whole song.
Q93. What do you feel after doing the dome tour and what change do you experience?
—I've got more sense of responsibility, and I think I have to hold more and more energy to grow up.
Q94. What points will you give to evaluate the dome tour?
—40 points. Just barely the failing mark (on a test). I feel like there should have been more things we could do. I want to grow up more as an artist who could stand on the dome's stage.
Q95. What musical instrument do you want to challenge yourself to play?
—Saxophone? I like jazz anyway, so I want to try it.
Q96. At present, what was the last GENE song you sang?
— "Shounen" I guess.
Q97. What's the reason behind the purple microphone tape you use?
—It's my seniors who decided the color, so I just used the color I was given.
Q98. As a singer, how do you want yourself to be from now on?
—I want to stand firmly together as GENE, and I want to be someone who can create lyrics too.
Q99. Within the group, do you actively speak up about your opinions?
—Relatively, I speak up about my opinions. Everyone else properly speaks up too. For many times, Alan-kun takes the neutral positions.
Q100. Please tell us the things you like from every member!
—I like Alan-kun's calmness no matter anything happens.
I like Ryuto-kun's side which is always so kind to me.
I like Reo's passion for the group.
I like Mandy-san's kind side though he's the oldest.
I like Hayato's side which always do things with all his might.
