20 Questions and Answers Ryota Katayose from The Television Plus October 2018 Issue
Q1. Where did you spend your 24th birthday?
—I was at Shanghai, China, for work. My fans made a surprise by projecting birthday messages for me on the high-rise building as the screen, and I was deeply moved by that.
Q2. What is the ideal prince for you?
—Gentleman.
Q3. Now, what moment is the most relaxing for you?
—When I eat delicious food. Recently, HIRO-san took me out for sushi.
Q4. What thing do you must have in your refrigerator?
—Mineral water. I always drink water, absolutely more than tea.
Q5. What thing are you addicted to recently?
—Tetris. My old game-boy at my parents' house is still working. When I play it again after a long time, I can't stop!
Q6. What did you eat this morning?
—I drank hot water with umeboshi in it. To have umeboshi in the morning, I feel that my stomach is happy.
Q7. What song do you frequently listen to?
—Leola-chan's newest mini album "LOVE, LIFE & LAUGHTER"is nice.
Q8. What thing do you always bring in your bag?
—An aroma spray. I like refreshing fragrance, so I use it when I'm sweating or when I want to refresh myself.
Q9. What do you use as your smartphone case?
—I don't use any. It's just as it is (laugh). Moreover, I've used of it anyway.
Q10. What is your favorite nabe (hot pot dish)?
—Motsunabe (hot pot stew made with offal, vegetables, and (often) miso). I eat it even in summer.
Q11. Cats or dogs?
—Dogs! Cats are tsundere (usually cold but sometimes affectionate) so they seem to be bothersome (laugh). By the way, the only pet I ever kept was a squirrel back at my parents' house.
Q12. Among the things you bought recently, what is the most expensive one?
—Clothes and sneakers. Since it's autumn now, I wear clothes in brown or autumn-ish tone.
Q13. What are you doing in GENERATIONS?
—It's the "GENE Wan Grand Prix" Mandy-san uploaded in his Instagram. In the videos, 7 of us pretended to be dogs and it's so much fun to do that with the members.
Q14. Recently, whom did you have a meal with?
—I went for a meal together with Imaichi (Ryuji)-kun and Hayato, just the 3 of us. When Imaichi-kun and I talked about things which are only understandable for us as vocalists, Hayato goes like, "It's tough, isn't it" all the time (laugh).
Q15. What is your ideal way of spending your days off?
—I'll finish cleaning and tidying up in the morning, then I'll go shopping in the afternoon, and at night, I'll eat out with my friends. I never spent a day off that way though (laugh).
Q16. What Chinese words do you like?
—The one I tend to use in SNS is "Wo ai ni (I love you)", I guess.
Q17. What is the necessary article you need during the filming of "PRINCE OF LEGEND"?
—Truffle nuts. We had that on "PRINCE OF LEGEND" filming site, and since I originally like it, I recommended it to my co-stars and everyone then became addicted to it. Nuts with truffle salt coating are really tasty!
Q18. What thing do you want to accomplish in 2018?
—Since my clothes and stuffs are piling up that I don't have enough storage anymore, I want to move to a room with many closets. There are so many clothes which my seniors in LDH gave me.
Q19. What is your favorite kind of Chinese steam buns?
—Steamed meat bun. You know, I grew up with Osaka's 551 Horai. When I was at elementary school, I even ate them for my breakfast (laugh).
Q20. Please express all the members of GENERATIONS as "Prince of ..."
Kazuhara Ryuto = Prince of Muscles
Shirahama Alan = Prince of Composure (he has the image of being able to cheerfully laugh at anything that might happen)
Sekiguchi Mandy = actually a Prince of Kindness
Sano Reo = The Kid-like Prince
Nakatsuka Yuta = Prince of Outer-Space (he has such collection of foolish space alien actions)
Komori Hayato = The Youngest Prince (note: youngest here means like the youngest child in a family)
